Best guitar teacher on youtube has to be Justin Sandercoe http://www.justinguitar.com/.
And all his videos are free though you can make a donation if you like.

Am laughing in amazement as after 20 years of gathering dust I picked up my guitar just this week and have been giving the lessons on Apple GarageBand a shot ! What a coincidence !!!

  5. Hi! Is there any way that you can put the YouTube videos after a break in the page, so that those of us who read your site in a RSS reader don’t have to page down through all the videos, not to mention waiting for them all to load?

    Thank you!

  6. Big Richie says:

Love the videos! thanks for sharing!

  7. Benni says:

    Dave’s just the best :) .

Although I have to say that many of these videos don’t really teach you. As I play for seven years or so, I’d say that those are merely advices when playing or how to play.

  8. Mick says:

That last Steve Vai video is fantastic, I remember watching it a while ago on youtube, some of the phrasing reminds me of Jeff Beck for some reason…

A site with video guitar lesson that has been around for a good couple of years is http://www.PlayGTR.net there is some great material on there and all the lessons are free.

  9. Hey I find videos to be THE MOST helpful when trying to learn something new on guitar! These videos were extremely helpful to me!
A good tip you can do when learning online is learn all the basic chords first and then get more comfortable with strumming. Once you’ve done that you can master any cover song!

  10. Hey, great vids. Loved the more advanced ones near the end by the guitar gods. They know what they are talking about for sure. I think one thing beginners need to understand more of is the mindset and motivation. I’ve been noticing a lot of talk on guitar forums where either the motivation is for the wrong thing (and hence they lose it) or they’ve just lost the passion for guitar that they used to have. I’ve been there too. If I can, I’d like to add these videos along with the list above. They all fall into the “motivation” department, which like I said, is half the equation.
