Ha, all chanting aside, there’s a lot I love about my country.

I love the opportunity that my country has to offer. It really can be taken for granted if you live here but it is really a blessing because not everyone has the opportunity that I do living here. If things go south in my home audio and graphic business for example, it can be taken for granted that I can go out and more than likely find a job within a week or two and do that until I get back on my feet. Not everyone can say that.

Secondly I love the foundation of this country. I do believe that I was in fact founded on Christian beliefs, but not just for Christians but for everyone of every religion. As a christian I don’t take it as a “my way or the highway” mentality. Everyone is free to practice as they believe.

Finally I’d say I love the sheer determination of the people in this country. If we fall a thousand times, you better believe we will get up a thousand and one times. I know I’ve had to do my very example above many times over the years when things were sucking and I wasn’t making ends meet with my audio and design business. I’d cashier, I’d be in sales, but every night I was planning and scheming my way back into being self employed.

  4. Copenhagen, Denmark.

I love being able to connect to the internet and enter sites such as audiotuts, which I recently discovered and have become very fond of. I love the avant-garde and experimental scene here – there’s sooo many interesting scandinavian and european bands at the moment. I love getting paid for taking an education instead of paying for it. I love the beautiful laides here that you don’t find anywhere else (escept for the Swedish). I love living in a country that’s placed in Europe, which I believe pretty much is the fucking place to be. I love not living in the U.S. and being a part of their common suicidal egocentric mentality in spite of the fact that they think they live in the spirit of “the freedom of speech” – It might be that Britain created that hellhole, but we can’t blame them for all the damage they’ve done ever since colombus.

    Russia, St. Petersburg.
Strictly speaking St.Pete is more a European city than the rest of Russian towns. So, I won’t speak for all of my multy-national /-cultural country. I love the Great Russian part populated by Russians.

Nowadays, last bears are leaving Russian cities, the snow melts somewhat in summer, and the balley dancers are still dancing, and the vodka consumption is off-scale.

Despite fierce corruption in economics (fuck Putin!) the new clever and clean generation of people is being born. New russian bands appear with some decent music. But the really good music is yet to come.

And what I really like is the Russian spirit (not a drink). Simple people are so open hearted that one can’t resist forgiving them all of their sins. The part of our siciety is reviving the root culture in a new format. New tendencies in natural and suburban living are encouraging.

I live in Japan. I think it’s not bad environment to make techno music here.
There’s a lot of great electronic products in this country I think.

  7. Lukas Adamczyk says:

I live in Poland. I love the fact that people here really feel music and tend to really enjoy live shows which makes any artist feel good. What I hate is that your song will never be aired if you do not shake hands with important people and/or bribe them. Only the major labels get their stuff across to people.

    Greece! For the Balcan spirit!
All the world! We are all human beings.
I hate the fact that few people exploit other people’s hard work paying them the less in order to have continuously growing and huge Profits.

    Singapore.
Such a small country, where it’s hot all year round.

I think one of the most commendable things about this country is racial tolerance, or I should say, racial harmony. Despite a chinese majority (and I’m chinese too), there is little tension between everyone of different races here. And everyone speaks (albeit rather modified) english as a medium for all races to communicate.

I do look up to other richer western countries, but it’s really amazing how Singapore has built up in the last 50 years. From a rural fishing village to a big bustling western-style city in such a short amount of time, we only have the government here to thank.

Admittedly, I’d say I’ve heard a lot of criticism about the government. I’m not too fond of their policies, like the compulsory 2 years of national service and multiple others, but it is part of maintaining the almost 5 million of us in this tiny island smaller than Los Angeles, where the dot marking singapore on a world map is bigger than the country itself.

What I love about Singapore? The culture, food and it’s progress over the last few years. Though, I’d really wish it would snow here.
