hey I've got a great engineering tip ...check this out...
why don't we forget about all the grids, and Auto-tune, and Melodyne, and layers of 5000 vocals, and ultra heavy compression, and songwriting through editing...... and record ONLY players who can play, singers who can actually sing, and focus on engineering that serves and uplifts the song instead of props it up like a corpse? I think that would make for better music. It's gotta start SOMETIME.
"line it up on the grid man!!.. yeah!!!" .. bull. Go take a classic record that has feel (or even a newer jazz track) and "line it up on the grid" and see how the life gets sucked out of it. We're churning out robotic drivel. Don't pull the status quo and ad one more hunk of crap on the steaming pile of garbage!

Go listen to a Fela Kuti track, or Led Zeppelin I, or anything by the Stones.. loose playing, great grooves, players who can play.
