Same here, been creating another track for each take, you saved me so much work. Thank you.

I do have a problem when I complete the takes and make the comp and only then realize I'd like to do another take to improve a part.

When I do that it erases all the comp markings and I have to redo them. Is there a way to keep the markings somehow when adding another take?

Thanks... I didn't know it did this. I've been running back to create another track and hit record again. You've saved me a lot of time, my friend.

The above method will only work if you place the 2nd comp (with the extra bits) on a new audio track - can't have two working on the same track at the same time.

Here's what I would do...

1. Make a copy of the original comp on a 2nd track (so i'm not destroying the first one)
2. Unpack the 2nd comp via the take folder menu on the right side of the take folder to new tracks. Then Use those new tracks wherever I want them. If i want to use them simultaneously, then they must each be on a separate Audio track. If they are going to be used one after the other, they can be on the same track, but for double tracking... well - 2 regions at the same time - 2 tracks etc.

The take folder preference that was mentioned by another user is not really relevant. It will create take folders by default - it's only cycle record features that need to be chosen by preferences.

Oh, and don't forget that you can have MIDI take folders too - but you can't comp them - you can just choose the best bits and chop the midi together!

Hmm, I thought you needed to enable Take Folders under "Recording Settings" for this to work. And that's a per project setting. I can't check it right now, but... This tutorial doesn't mention Take Folders at all...

Thank you. I appreciate it, I am quite fond of it myself.
Logic has many many intuitive features like this one, which make your work all the more easier.
