thank you for these awesome and informative tips mark, but i have a question, i cant seem to find anything on this web site that tells me the difference in final mix between 48Hzand 44100 hz. I'm working on reason and it exports as wav, then i put it into neundo 3, i try to ensure the project freq range and sample rates are the same as the reason wav, but it always seems to come out muffled. I'll try play with dynamics and eq. But your advice would be a great help

This is a great article. you mentioned many points I have read from other articles I have read, but having an audio example and the analysis side by side makes it much easier to understand without feeling that I should be using a spectrum analyzer on any of my mixes. :)

Very decent read to skim... would like some tips on how to actually achieve a balanced frequency range though. Perhaps particular to Ableton Live.

More Ableton stuff in the future please!

Nice explanations. Critical listening is almost a must for artists who like to mix and master their own tracks. Glad to have songs from "Thriller" recognized...the whole album is the pop-music blueprint.

very good article for setting the 'right mind' when approaching a track.

to be fair... not everyone is a 'musician' or has ahd 'musical training' so this is not always an 'instinct' when your other senses may be consumed with learning your craft.
