I got a big question about Cubase 5. I have a PreSonus Firepod, and when I go to use it, only the first 2 channels are Active, all the rest are Inactive and I cant find any way to change that, but in something like Audition 3, all the channels are already active to record through. Can you help me somehow?

Did you download from http://www.presonus.com the last driver? Select FP10 driver (formerly Firepod)
In Cubase 5, select ‘devices/ device setup’. In the left list, select ‘VST audio system’, and select the Presonus Asio Driver. Then, still in the left list, right under VST Audio System should appear the name of your audio card. Select it. In the corresponding window, you should see all the inputs and outputs. Check the ‘visible’ box, you can also click on reset. Hope this will help you…
Yeah I just found that driver, installed it and was happy but… Cubase didn’t remove what seemed like the older driver or something. I tried other audio programs like audacity and audition, they all showed and work through all channels at one time. But Cubase now has Presonus ASIO and just Firepod ASIO and the older Firepod ASIO still works with just the first 2 channels being active, and if I click Presonus ASIO it says
“Audio Engine Error: Could not activate ASIO Driver PreSonus ASIO Driver.”
Know anything about that?
You should try first to clear all the Presonus and Firepod drivers from your hard disk. (Control panel/Add or remove programs). Start Cubase and check no more Presonus and Firepod drivers are available.
Unplug your Firepod from the computer, install the Presonus driver, then plug your Firepod and let the computer install the driver with the audio card.
Once it’s done, start Cubase and check if it’s works…
I have installed Cubase 5 and when Play button on midi or VST instrument it doesn`t have voice. see this images

i think it`s cause that WINDOWS MIDI is INACTIVE

beqa411, Willsy is right. But in a top of that, hit F4 which open the VST connections, choose “outputs” and check that the “audio device” and “device port” are correctly set. In your case, under “audio device” should appear “ASIO DirectX full duplex”.
Let us know if those answers resolve your problem.
beqa411, I had the same problem… In your devices setup where is says audio driver click the “control panel” button above the list of inputs/outputs. Then check the box next to the speakers on your audio card and click “OK”. Restart Cubase and your speakers should be enabled. This MAY work for you, as it worked for me. Do the same for any input/output you wish to use, though it must be CONNECTED!!!

Hi, i recently purchased cubase 5 and i am trying to set up the drivers is VST Connections but there are no drivers showing up?? i have a realtek HD Audio which i know i crap but i would like to get it set up can you help me!?!

i’m trying to get cubase 5 working with my alesis 8 usb.
I don’t know much about this stuff but when i follow the step by step instructions i come up against things i don’t understand because they are different then my system. i have a laptop with realtek hd audio. (can i get another?)
i need someone to step by step me to configure this computer to record and playback through the mixer.

can you please help me i have a yamaha cp5 stage piano and cubase AI5 connected to my mac with the yamaha ux16 usb to midi cable when i play notes on the piano nothing is being recorded through cubase ive been trying for almost a week and still no further on.i hope you can please kindly help me.
