You can create an automation lane and then automate the combinator from ON to BYPASS (or OFF).

when using the the run patches in the Combinator..how do you record just 4,8,or 16 bars instead of having it loop through the whole song. For instance I want to enter breaks and bridges with other instruments but with these (RUN) patches it just plays when I hit the play button and when I record (hit the record button) it doesn't recording anything. I know amateur question!

Mike: Automate the drum patterns. For example, if pattern A1 is your drum pattern, automate it to drum pattern A2 (or other blank pattern) when you don't want it to play.

Hey Eric, I really liked this tutorial it really summed up the combinator but I do have one question? How can i automate the drum machines so they don't play throughout the entire song? For instance when I hit Run pattern Devices on and off, it doesn't automate that. Thank you for your help
